Have you ever wondered how human remains end up on display in museums, or what challenges the curators can face? A topic spanning decades of museum work: the preservation and ethical obligations behind human remains in museum settings. Whether focusing on issues in decomposition or how to honor one’s culture in the afterlife, museums must make these considerations every day. Join local cultural academic and museum volunteer Julia Menges to learn the care museums put into these bodies in their afterlife, and the difficulties they face.
This is the 5th installment of our A Scientist Walks Into a Distillery event, held in partnership with Vermont Distillers in Marlboro Vermont. Join us on the second Thursday of the month for a tasty drink and some fascinating science! The doors open at 5:30, with the talking starting at 6:30! Cash bar and snacks will be available. Donations appreciated.
