The Vermont Jazz Center is honored to open its 2025–26 concert season with Grammy-nominated pianist, composer, and DownBeat Artist of the Year Jason Moran. His solo piano performance, “Ellington in Focus,” takes place Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 7:30 PM at the Vermont Jazz Center in Brattleboro.

Moran—MacArthur “Genius” Award recipient, Grammy nominee, and winner of the DownBeat Critic’s Poll Artist of the Year—brings a deeply personal take on the music of Duke Ellington. Reflecting on this repertoire, Moran told The New York Times: “I couldn’t ask for a better companion.”
