Next Stage Arts presents a series of talks by curators in the Arts and Humanities, on Sunday, February 18; Wednesday, March 20; and Sunday, April 21 at 7:00pm at Next Stage Arts, 15 Kimball Hill in downtown Putney, VT.

On Wednesday, March 20th, Professor Christopher Silver will detail his efforts to amplify a set of twentieth century North African Jewish and Muslim voices which for too long have remained silent in the historical record. The topic of Historical Grooves: Archiving the Sounds of the Jewish-Muslim Relationship – will make for an interesting discussion for this event. Through selections from his first-of-its-kind archive of early twentieth century shellac records from Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia, he will draw our attention to the sublime sounds of the artists whose music shaped and spoke to an era of profound change and remarkable resilience.

All talks are free to attend, but donations are appreciated. Advance registration is available at nextstagearts.org. For more information, call 802-387-0102 or visit nextstagearts.org.
