The Vermont Climate Council will be on hand in Bellows Falls on April 23rd with Kerrick Johnson, Commissioner, Department of Public Service and Julie Moore, Secretary, Agency of Natural Resources. We’ll share a link at the end of the announcement so you can receive timing and locations for this information.

If you have additional questions, you can also email Rep Leslie Goldman at Lgoldman@leg.state.vt.us

The Climate Action Plan is being updated by the Vermont Climate Council now and an updated plan is due July 1, 2025. While public engagement has occurred all along the way, an intentional effort to receive feedback on the draft recommendations will occur throughout April and on May 1st.

In 2005, Vermont set climate pollution reduction goals in law. In 2020, those goals were made requirements and commenced this planning effort to identify the most cost-effective, equitable and essential strategies to reduce Vermonters’ reliance on price-volatile fossil fuels and become more resilient in a warming world. There is an obligation – and a money-saving, health-enhancing and local job creation opportunity – in this endeavor.
