Natural honeycomb is a delicious treat… natural honeycomb from your own hives? Even better!

If you’re interested in adding this skill to your beekeeping toolbox, this workshop is for you.

In this workshop, you will:
* Learn how to manage your hive(s) to support cut comb honey production.
* Learn how to put together a cut comb super. Each participant will leave with one complete, assembled 8 or 10 frame super with cut comb foundation.
* Learn timing and logistics – when do the supers go on? When do they come off?
* Learn how to harvest and handle your fresh honeycomb.

Who should take this class?
* This class is best suited to beekeepers with some experience.
* A couple notes on pre-requisites for the bees… If you are planning on using your new skills this season, please be aware that to effectively fill a cut comb super, a strong, well-established colony of bees is essential to your success! This means that you’re either beginning the season with a healthy over-wintered hive, or are starting with a nucleus colony, not a new package. Package bees are unlikely to be strong enough to produce cut comb their first season.
