Weathervane Arts presents a community workshop and concert at the Montague Common Hall, with singer, composer, and song-collector Moira Smiley (Vermont).
3pm Workshop: “Singing the Rhizome” – We’ll sing in celebration of the “sugar in the ground”, our often unspoken shared resources and values that become essential in getting us through difficult times. This will include warmups & musical games focusing on fullest ease and playfulness while singing, learning a bit about co-creating and simple improvisation, and learning new and old folk songs that celebrate the natural world, gardens & spring – in a rich variety of simple harmony singing (2-4 parts).
5pm Community Potluck: Bring a dish to share!
