CANCELLED: The Arts of Resistance Post-Gallery Party

Friday, July 13, 2018
The July 20 gallery events will happen as scheduled; click through for details about the other thing.
Stage 33 Live
33 Bridge St
Bellows Falls, VT

Word from the Arts of Resistance organizers is that the post-gallery performances at 33 Bridge Street on Friday, July 20 won’t be happening. There was a cancellation. But Verandah Porche and Patty Carpenter will still be doing poetry and music at the gallery on Canal Street sometime after 5:00 though, so do hit that.

Stage 33 Live is faced with a decision now, independent of The Arts of Resistance event.

There’s semi-needful maintenancey sorts of things that have been waiting to get done at 33 Bridge, so they could pivot to a shortish work session; anybody who would like to help out would be welcome. Drop them an email at stage33@stage33live.com if that sounds delicious.

Alternately, If there are either:

1. a couple acts that want to do a 45-minute set each of original material (one starting at 6:00, the other at 7:00) that’s a possibility, or if

2. there are at least five people interested in doing up to 15 minutes each of original material, there could be an open stage type dealio starting at 6:00.

If either of those cranks yer crank, shoot them a line ASAP at stage33@stage33live.com

They’ll wait to decide until late this Friday the 13th (which is a week before next Friday).

Stage 33 Live will host musical performances by Patty & The Cakes and She Said on Friday, July 20 starting at 8:30 PM in conjunction with The Arts of Resistance.

Patty and the Cakes is a rockin’ dance band blending jazz, R&B, blues, and Americana.

She Said is a powerfully harmonizing all-female original band drawing from blues, rock, jazz, country, and punk traditions.

Friday the 20th is the final day of ‚ÄúThe Arts of Resistance‚ÄĚ – a multi-dimensional art event in Bellows Falls exploring the spectrum of reactions to this tumultuous political time in our country.

Artwork and performances begin at Project Space 9 Gallery; the Exner Block art gallery on Canal Street; and Canal St Art Gallery on Canal Street at 5:00 PM. Music will continue at 33 Bridge Street at 8:30.

Free, but a suggested donation of $5 will be appreciated.
