Farm to Ballet returns to Retreat Farm

The Farm to Ballet Project returns to the Retreat Farm in Brattleboro to celebrate the rich farming culture of Vermont. Set on a grassy stage, the full-length production tells the story of a Vermont farm from spring to fall. The Retreat Farm production will feature live Vivaldi played by a string sextet.

The event will be held outdoors at the Retreat Farm’s new Farmhouse Square on August 12 from 6 to 8 pm. While at Retreat Farm you may tour the Children’s Farm & Forest, explore the kids nature trail, and enjoy the indoor and outdoor playspace starting at 4:30 pm. Local food trucks, including Dosa Kitchen, Rigani Wood-Fired Pizza, Ro’s Petite FĂŞte, and Tito’s Tacos will also be onsite.

Tickets are free for children 12 and under and $15 for adults.

Retreat Farm Members receive a 10% discount on ticket, merchandise, and food truck purchases. Event proceeds benefit the Children’s Farm & Forest and Farm to Ballet Project. Tickets can be purchased at the Children’s Shop Wednesday through Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm or online at retreatfarm.org/ballet

A fixture of the Brattleboro landscape for 180 years, Retreat Farm encompasses more than 550 acres of conserved forest and farmland, trails and waterways, and the familiar seven-barn Farmstead on Route 30. Through the preservation and restoration of the historic farm, the Retreat Farm’s mission is to promote stewardship of the land and provide a platform where innovative local enterprises can collaborate and carry out community-sustaining initiatives.
