An evening of traditional and contemporary Celtic music featuring high energy bagpipes/fiddle/guitar trio Cantrip and multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Emerald Rae at Next Stage in Putney on Friday, April 21 at 7:30 pm.

Cantrip sprung from a local music session in Edinburgh, Scotland sixteen years ago. The band name is an Old Scots word meaning a charm, magic spell, or piece of mischief, describing the twists and turns in the trio’s musical arrangements and the potency of their musicianship.

US National Scottish Fiddle Champion Emerald Rae has performed with a wide range of musical artists over the years including Annalivia, Cathie Ryan, the pan-Celtic international supergroup The Outside Track, and Mick Moloney’s Green Fields of America.

Next Stage is located at 15 Kimball Hill in downtown Putney, VT. Tickets are $20 Advance / $24 At the Door. Advance tickets are available online at nextstagearts.org, or in person at Turn It Up in Brattleboro or at Putney Food Co-op in Putney.
