Psychedelic Cinema Orchestra presents SOUTH! Shackleton and the Endurance Expedition

Saturday, August 6, 2022
8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Epsilon Spires
190 Main Street
Brattleboro, VT

Epsilon Spires presents “SOUTH,” the account of a pioneering expedition in Antarctica that has rediscovered HMS Endurance, 107 years after it sank.   The film will be accompanied by a live musical score!

Psychedelic Cinema Orchestra is a new band composed of “survivors of the silent film wars” featuring Ken Winokur (Alloy Orchestra), Jonathan La Master (Cul de Sac) and Russ Gershon (Either/Orchestra). They return to Epsilon Spires to meld their repurposed junk percussion, bass clarinet, baritone sax, electric violin and guitars into a live musical score for the documentary film — recently remastered by the BFI National Archive — of Sir Ernest Shackleton’s 1914-16 Endurance expedition to Antarctica.

Doors 8pm, Performances start  shortly after 8:35pm, once it is dark enough for projection. Please plan to arrive within that window of time to enjoy a refreshment, experience the art exhibition, and choose your seat to best avoid disrupting the performance. Thanks!
