2022 Riverfest Weekend & New England Paddlesports Championship on the Connecticut River features family-friendly near-river and on-river activities bridging southwest New Hampshire with southeast Vermont on August 6 & 7.

Family activities on Saturday from 10 to 4PM, as well as canoeing, kayaking, hiking, biking, fly casting, and live music. Highlights include the Riff Raft Regatta at 12:30, originally a summer crowd favorite at The Marina some years ago – participants are invited to build a “hope-it-will-float” raft to compete in a 50-yard sprint.

Attendees may also sign up for guided and independent opportunities to try canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards (SUPs); fly-fish casting; a four-mile round-trip hike up Wantastiquet; a bike ride on the Fort Hill rail trail. There will be arts and crafts activity stations at Riverfest Village located opposite the train station in Brattleboro from 10 to 4. From 11 to 3, The Latchis Theater will host river-related talks.

For a full schedule of Saturday’s activities and the entire weekend, and links to event registrations, visit ctriver.org/nepc-riverfest

The Championship race will be Sunday from 10 to 2PM with racers from across the Northeast. Race classes will include canoes, kayaks, surf skis, and stand-up paddleboards. The race, launching from Norm’s Marina, is part of the New England Canoe and Kayak Racing Association (NECKRA) Flatwater Point Series.

All on-river activities will require life jackets. Organizers politely request that festival-goers leave their pets at home.
