Trio Ad Libitum

Saturday, May 21, 2022
7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Brattleboro Music Center
72 Blanche Moyse Way
Brattleboro, VT

The Brattleboro Music Center’s Season Guest Concert Series welcomes Trio Ad Libitum Saturday, May 21 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $20 general admission, and are available through the BMC website at www.bmcvt.org or by calling (802) 257-4523.

Members of Trio Ad Libitum have appeared as soloists and chamber musicians in prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, the Concertgebouw, Jordan Hall, and Alice Tully Hall, and are members of the Cleveland, Guarneri, Juilliard, and Orion quartets and Beaux Arts Trio.

Trio Ad Libitum takes its name from the Latin phrase meaning “at one’s pleasure.” In a musical setting this term gives performers certain freedoms, but also requires that individuality is within the context of the composer’s intentions. This is a reflection of the ensemble’s ethos: three distinct points of view in service to the greater whole.

The 7:30 p.m. concert at the BMC will include Franz Schubert’s String Trio in B-flat Major, D 471; Bohuslav Martinu’s Trio à cordes n°2 H238; Jean Françaix’s String Trio; and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Divertimento in E-flat major, KV 563.

The Mid-River Bulletin Board is facilitated by WOOL-FM.
