With the cancellation of the 39th Annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Vermont has launched a virtual campaign: The BIG Night In.

Anyone who wants to support local Bigs and Littles may donate the cost of an activity they would normally go out for, such as a dinner, coffee with a friend, a movie, or bowling.

The idea is to re-create a favorite outing at home, then share a photo or video with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Vermont’s social media, and send a challenge friends.

A concert at home, a dance or movie night for family or housemates, cook a new recipe, or get friends and colleagues to join in a Virtual Bowl for Kids’ Sake tournament using the online app at the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Vermont website, www.bbbsvt.org

Gift certificates to local shops and restaurants will be awarded for the largest fundraisers, most creative ideas, and highest virtual bowling scores.

The event runs through May 30.

To join the live events, donate, or register a team, visit www.bbbsvt.org

Donations can be made online or sent to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Vermont at PO Box 1729, Brattleboro, VT 05302.

The organization is also seeking larger donations that can be used to match campaign donations.

The Mid-River Bulletin Board is facilitated by WOOL-FM.
