Morton Feldman: String Quartet No.2
Tuesday, November 12
4:00 to 10:00pm

Inspired by the intricate enormity of Turkish tapestries, Feldman’s six-hour meditative work is performed without pause, allowing sounds to accumulate into patterns and ultimately reveal a breathtaking whole. An adjacent room will be designed for rest and hydration, allowing listeners to take breaks without interrupting their experience.

“Our challenge is to investigate narrative and fundamentally deconstruct all conventional approaches to dramaturgy in performance. How do we transport the listener (not to mention ourselves) over such vast stretches of music? What is boredom? What is interest? How does the body deal with extensive engagement? Will time stand still?” – Lassus Quartett

Joel Bardolet and Antonio Viñuales, violins
Adam Newman, viola
David Eggert, cello

Currier Center at the Putney School
Audience members are invited to attend any or all of the performance.
Free Admission

Reservations: info@yellowbarn.org or (802) 387-6637

Presented in collaboration with the Putney School
