Community Radio Station, WOOL, Announces Annual Silent Auction
With Music, Food, and a Cash, Bar Auction Joins Third Friday Art Walk in Bellows Falls

WOOL, community radio for Vermont and New Hampshire, holds its 12th annual Silent Auction on Friday, November 15 from 5 to 8 PM at 33 Bridge Street in Bellows Falls featuring art, household goods, furniture, gift certificates from area business including shops and restaurants, and many gift items – some for only a dollar. There will be hot food items for sale, and Athens Pizza of Bellows Falls will provide a cash bar of beer and wine.

WOOL is seeking tax deductible donations of saleable items valued at $20 or more to help keep WOOL on the air. Items can be left at the station at 33 Bridge Street in Bellows Falls or you can email borderpete@gmail.com or feedback@blacksheepradio.org and someone will get right back to you.

Enjoying its thirteenth year on the air, WOOL 91.5 FM, also known as Black Sheep Radio, is supported by memberships, underwriting, and fundraisers – of which this annual auction is a primary component.

At a Silent Auction, bidders use an anonymous number to list their bids on a sheet associated with the item and then write a higher bid as other bidders surpass the original. There’s suspense and excitement as the bidding goes higher. When the bell sounds at 8:00pm, the highest bidder wins the item, often for an unexpectedly low price.

In past years the event has featured vintage guitars, original artwork by area painters and sculptors, bedsteads, tables, chairs, sought-after services by local professionals, and gift certificates from regional restaurants. As always, there will be snacks and refreshments and the whole spectacle is a party atmosphere.

This year the Auction will also have the Bellows Falls Farmers Winter Market taking place concurrently at 33 Bridge Street. The Market will have fresh fall produce, breads, jarred goods, local crafts, and more. In addition, there will be live musical guests.

The auction runs from 5:00pm to 8:00pm with the Farmers Market starting at 4:00pm until 7:00pm on Friday, November 15th at 33 Bridge Street in Bellows Falls, VT. For more information email borderpete@gmail.com or feedback@blacksheepradio.org and someone will get right back to you.
