Internationally celebrated singer-songwriter Rupert Wates in Bellows Falls

BELLOWS FALLS β€” England-born, Oxford University-educated Rupert Wates has released nine acclaimed full-length solo CDs. Since relocating to the USA, two tribute albums to his material have been made by musicians in Nashville and Los Angeles, and he’s won dozens of songwriting awards. He’s been a fulltime songwriter since the late ’90s, when he signed an exclusive publishing deal with London-based Eaton Music.

Wates prefers the up-close intimacy of small listening rooms over large venues and festivals to perform his eclectic mix of acoustic, melodic art/folk flavored with jazz, vaudeville, and cabaret. Stage 33 Live is honored to host the final East Coast date before his tour heads to southern states.

Local favorite Josh Maiocco opens. Advance tickets are available online at stage33live.com

“A prime figure in American music.” β€” Folk And Acoustic Music Exchange

“As the former manager of the late Harry Chapin, I’ve heard my share of story songs. Rupert’s are right up there with the best.” β€” Bob Hinkle

“The economy of a Woody Guthrie ballad with the intricacies of Richard Thompson.” β€” Orlando Sentinel

“Gripping lyrics with great themes and troubling, witty messages.” β€” Leith Radio, Scotland

“Astonishing fingerpicking chops” β€” Monterey County Weekly

Sunday, November 10; door opens at 6:00, music starts at 7:00. Advance tickets are $15, and a chair is guaranteed until 40 tickets are sold. $20 at the door; if any chairs behind the reserved rows are available on show day, those will be available first-come first-served. Attendees are allowed to bring their own portable seating to set up behind the house chairs, or to use in place of their reserved chair. 100% of tickets sales support the performers.

Stage 33 Live is an intimate, industrial-rustic listening room in a former factory located at 33 Bridge Street in Bellows Falls, VT, documenting live performances and presentations of original material on a simple stage. No kitchen, no liquor license, but establishments with those things are nearby. Coffee, soda, water, and weird snacks by donation.
