118 Elliot
118 Elliot St
Brattleboro, VT

Group improvisations, game-pieces, free play, and more when Anna Patton and Wendy Eisenberg lead sound-making at 118 Elliot on September 12th at 7:30. Future dates to be announced.

For all instrumentalists and vocalists willing to experiment with improvisational play. No experience is needed, just a curious ear and a willingness to make things up. Anna and Wendy will engage participants in various techniques that encourage creativity through spontaneity.

Anna Patton is a clarinetist who performs in a full spectrum of styles. She teaches vocal and instrumental ensemble classes and music theory. In 2015, Anna completed her Masters of Music in New England Conservatory’s Contemporary Improvisation program.

Guest host Wendy Eisenberg is an accomplished improvising guitarist, banjo-player, vocalist, and poet using the languages of free jazz, new music, metal, and art song. Two recent releases (“Its Shape Is Your Touch” and “The Machinic Unconscious”) made Billboard’s Critic’s Choice Top Ten Jazz Records year end list in 2018, and received features and attention from NPR.
