Grant Peeples + Maddy Walsh w/ Ezra Veitch at Stage 33 Live

Sunday, June 16, 2019
6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Stage 33 Live
33 Bridge St
Bellows Falls, VT

Before Grant Peeples makes his way to Oklahoma’s interior to play the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival in Woody’s hometown of Okemah, he’ll be at Stage 33 Live in Bellows Falls. Local hero Ezra Veitch opens. Sunday, June 16. That’s also father’s day, bring your rad dad. Doors at 6:00, Ezra at 7:00, Grant at 8:00.

A “tree-hugger that watches NASCAR, and Buddhist with a gun below the seat,” Grant’s not afraid to share what’s on his mind. He’s known for his axe-sharp socio-political tunes, raucous humor, and heart-gigging ballads. His shows are a roiling mix of funny and not-funny. He doesn’t do a lot of love songs. He’s been known to play a few raunchy tunes. He lived on a small island off the Miskito Coast of Nicaragua for eleven years. He’s made ten studio records, three live recordings, and two poetry books. His four most recent albums were produced by Gurf Morlix, who has also produced Lucinda Williams, Mary Gauthier, Ray Wiley Hubbard, Robert Earl Keen, and Slaid Cleaves, among many others. Grant tours coast to coast, primarily as a solo artist. But for this show he’s bringing Maddy Walsh with him from the Ithaca-based band of much buzz, The Blind Spots.

The listening event will be recorded and filmed. Audience members’ likeness or voice may be incidentally documented; your presence is your permission. 33 Bridge Street is an accessible space.

The suggested donation is $10, more if you can. All of it goes to Grant for gas and burritos to get him to the next show.

There are only 40 chairs available.
